Washing and caring for Viscose
Viscose is a chemically processed cellulose fibre, so basically a mixture of synthetic and natural fibre. However, in contrast to polyester & Co., viscose wouldn’t loose micro plastic particles as it’s made of wood. Please still be carful when washing the material as viscose can be very delicate.
Washing Viscose
There is no „Viscose 101“ as viscose is very various. Every piece of clothing is different so read the care instructions on the label carefully to avoid ripping, bleeding or shrinking.
Most of the viscose shirts from the 80s/90s, however, are quite easy to wash. With 30° Celsius and a gentle cycle you should be on the save side.
Drying Viscose
It’s best to don’t wring viscose out or tumble dry it. Just shake it out and let it air-dry.
Ironing Viscose
Iron or steam inside out.
