Washing and caring for polyester
Polyester, Polyacrylics & Co can be quite delicate. By treating them incorrectly you’ll not only harm your piece of clothing but also the environment. When washing synthetic fibres small micro plastic particles will get into our wastewater and from there into our rivers and seas. So what should we do?
Washing polyester
Wash synthetic fibres at low temperature and inside out. To avoid micro plastics we recommend using a washing bag (e.g. Guppyfriend — not sponsored ;).
Drying polyester
Some synthetic fibres can be tumble dried at low temperature. However, we recommend air-dying them. It’s better for the materials and the environment. Avoid direct sunlight.
Ironing polyester
Careful! Never ever iron your synthetics at high temperature as they literally melt. If really necessary iron or steam as cold as possible and inside out.
