Washing and caring for Faux Fur

Most care labels will tell you to clean your faux fur dry only. Nevertheless, based on experience, we’d dare to wash our fake fur coats from time to time. Not too often though as it’s not the best for the material and bad for the environment. Always prefer hanging the garment out or freezing it.

Washing Faux Fur

If it’s time to clean your jacket „properly“ you could just put it into your washing machine (or, for being 100% on the save side, bring it to the dry-cleaner’s).
Mostly one single jacket is one washing cycle so please don’t try to force too many other pieces into the machine as the coat’s hair could look flat afterwards. (And if your coat happens to loose some hair you’ll thank us for this tip.)

Use a gentle cycle and detergent.

Drying Faux Fur

Even though we don’t like tumble dryers due to environmental reasons we’d recommend using one in this case. It makes your faux fur soft and as good as new.

Ironing Faux Fur

Don’t iron the outside of your jacket. If necessary you can iron or steam the inside (as cold as possible).
