The other day our wonderful intern Julia surprised us with these delicious vegan high protein brownies. You wouldn’t guess they are actually made out of beans! We were so amazed that we asked her to share the recipe with you so that everyone has a chance to taste them!
There is nothing better than a delicious soft brownie for a relaxed and cosy evening. Pack with only good ingredients, it will keep you full for a long time. They are high in protein because of the beans and the oatmeal. So amazingly chocolatey
and soft, it’s impossible to eat just one piece!
Vegan High Protein Brownies
What you need:
500 g of cooked kidney beans
100 g of oatmeal
1 Tablespoon of backing powder
1 a pinch of salt
As much raw chocolate powder as you like, I used about 6 Tablespoons
100 ml of rice milk
bit of vanilla extract
50 ml of liquid coconut oil
100 g of apple sauce
10 Tablespoons of any sweetener you like, (Maple syrup for example)
50 g of drawn nuts
50g of vegan chocolate chips
1 Banana
6 Dates
How to make it:
1. The recipe is really easy, there is just one thing you need to do before putting everything into your kitchen processor. You have to wash the beans very carefully, if you skip this step your brownies will have a beany taste.
2. Afterwards, put the batter into a baking pan, bake until the brownies aren’t liquid anymore (try with a fork), let it cool and enjoy!
