When I’m craving for chocolate I love making myself a nice and creamy chocolate smoothie. My favourite one is with frozen banana, peanut butter and cacao powder; all mixed together with some water. But this recipe is even better, the advanced version of the other smoothie, so to speak. Carob powder makes the drink sweeter by adding a lot of calcium and roughage as well as iron, vitamin A and B and other trace minerals (source), whereas hemp powder gives you an extra portion of protein (source) and chia seeds omega-III fatty acids (source). All together the perfect combination that tastes like heaven!
Super food chocolate smoothie | Vegan
What you need:
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup soy or oat milk
1 very ripe banana, frozen
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 tbsp carob powder
1 tbsp cacao powder (unsweetened)
1 tsp hemp powder
1 tsp chia seeds
1 pinch of cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
Cacao nibs
How to make it:
1. Cut the banana in pieces and put them into a blender.
2. Add all the other ingredients (except the cacao nibs) and mix very well.
3. Let it rest for about 10 minutes in the fridge. Pour the smoothie into an iced glass, decorate with cacao nibs and enjoy!
