When it comes to cosmetics, there is one remedy I definitely favour: It’s healthy, yummy and utterly universal. I’m sure everyone knows what I’m talking about: Coconut oil.
And although you might know some of these purposes I hope there’ll be some new tips for everyone. So here we go:
-
Moisturizing for hair and skin
Use a bit of coconut oil to moisturize your hair or skin. Put it on dry parts of your body, use it as body butter or put a small amount of this treasure in the ends of your hair. After washing them it won’t feel so dry anymore.
Just be careful and wash it properly in order to avoid greasy-looking hair.

-
Healthy for mouth and teeth
You’ve probably heard about that: Coconut oil is so good for your gum and theeth! You either make your own tooth paste out of it (we’ll probably post Clarissa’s recipe here, too) or jump on the bandwagon of “oil pulling”. No idea what this means? It’s basically the idea of flushing oil through your teeth for about 20 minutes in order to gather all the toxics in your mouth. Afterwards you rinse out your mouth and get rid of all the bad bacteria in your mouth. So easy – and if your coconut oil tasts really good – also soooo delicious!

-
Delicious and well supplement in the kitchen
No matter if vegan cheese cake, energy balls or just frying something – coconut oil is THE kitchen helper everyone should have. And even if it seems to be quite expensive, it will last for a long time and makes everything taste great!
-
Perfect base for natural cosmetics
As you’ve seen in our last post coconut oil is a great base for natural cosmetics such as salves, (hair) masks or even deotorants. You can find a recipe for that by clicking HERE.
-
Your daily moisturizing shaving cream
Taking a small amount of coconut oil as a shaving cream is not only effective but also sustainable as you know exactly what’s inside: Just coconut, nothing more. When I tried it the first time I was a little bit scaptical but now I’m 100% convinced and love it. Try it and see for yourself.
